How far does the balloon get boosted if you do well in a Quiz?
Do donations generally boost balloons further?
The reason I ask this is that I'm a bit concerned that those with lots of money will donate lots and boost their kids balloons, and those with less money will not have that ability, and that doesn't seem fair.
So...I was wondering...can you boost the balloons further if the kids do well in the quizzes? So there's the motivation for the kids to do the quizzes every day (which is also sort of educational?). And if I could tell them how far they'll get boosted if they do well in a quiz/game, that would motivate them too?
I know it's all about making money for the school, but it's also about fun for the children isn't it, and I don't want any children upset as they can't afford to boost their balloons so much. I don't want it to become a race about who has the most money.
I also noticed on your website that it mentioned about boosting the balloons of the children who display good behaviour during a week at school? How would that work?
Also, I was wondering if at the end of it, I could know who completed/took part in the most quizzes/games, and they could also get a prize...once again rewarding hard work and not just having rich relatives!!
Thanks for your help.
We are currently looking at holding a race for the last 3 weeks before the easter hols...would that be feasible?
Thanks

So all questions are unique then? A stab in the dark, but I'm guessing around a quarter of them must keep cropping up in one form or another - makes an FAQ a no-brainer surely?
I took a look at the race and I can't quite get my head round it - simple queries like "how is the distance measured" took a fair bit of digging around to find the answer to. (And the answer is one website visited = one mile, which doesn't tally with the distance being measured in km)
Incidentally, it looks like very long names mess up the "view this balloon" page a bit. Couldn't quite work out what the boost figure is - Matt has 30 - 30 what though? (Sorry, that should read Josh has 30, but I can't see that Josh secretly covets a dual split LOL!)
There's a page called "how it works" which lists lots of reasons why it's better than a conventional race but it doesn't really say how-it-works. Not a criticism, just an example to show that it's hard to get to grips with how it actually works, hence why you get so many queries.
Cut them off at the pass - answer the bulk of their queries before they've even thought to ask them and it'll free up more of your time to spend with your cute little babe.
That sounds like top advice. Sometimes when you work in or on something you can't see the obvious.
I've had to pause the 'balloons' race as important occasions have hacked in and gone at hyper speed - you have to laugh don't you.
Minnie is awesome - more pictures at www.minniesaker.com
Haha! 1307km??!! Laugh? - more like a major incontinent moment! Bless, I was reading on his blog that they now hold a daily meeting to discuss changes to the website based on all the amazing feedback they're getting from google analytics, perhaps the idea of hacking the race was run up the flagpole at yesterdays meeting...
Going back to understanding the race, you could do with finding someone who talks plain english and get them to write up a bit on how it all works, including a Q&A. You're too close to it, you understand it inside out and it'll be hard for you to see why others raise what seems to you like such very basic stuff.
Minnie's a real cutie but the poor girl's got no clothes on in some of those pics - time to look at cheaper suppliers so that you can afford to buy the wee mite something to wear :-)
ps: a pic with a cat in it - you've just gained several brownie points. Or should I say you've just boosted yourself.
